Anamaria Yeung, MD

Dr. Anamaria Yeung is triple board-certified in Radiation Oncology, Lifestyle Medicine, and Obesity Medicine, and is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. She earned her MD from the University of Florida in 2004, and completed her residency training at the University of Florida in 2009.

With 15 years of experience in academic Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida, Dr. Yeung has guided thousands of patients through the challenges of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. However, witnessing an increasing incidence of cancer among younger and younger patients inspired her to shift her focus toward helping patients prevent cancer and disease in the first place.

Over time, she discovered a tremendous amount of scientific data demonstrating that we all have much more control over our health than the American healthcare system has led us to believe. She decided to dedicate herself to empowering others to achieve optimal health through lifestyle changes so they can avoid the chronic and life-altering diseases that plague so many today.

Cancer Survivorship

After years of caring for patients through cancer treatment, she recognized a major gap in traditional oncology care: what happens after treatment ends. Many survivors are left navigating fatigue, weight gain, metabolic disease, early menopause, bone loss, cardiovascular risk, and fear of recurrence with little guidance or support. Dr. Yeung is passionate about helping cancer survivors move beyond “survival mode” and reclaim long-term health, vitality, and confidence. By integrating evidence-based lifestyle medicine, she helps survivors reduce recurrence risk, manage late effects of treatment, and truly thrive in the years after cancer.

Medical Weight Loss

Dr. Yeung has a particular passion for supporting individuals in their weight loss journeys, recognizing its profound impact on overall health and quality of life. She believes that obesity is a complicated and chronic disease, with multiple contributing factors including hormonal, genetic, metabolic and lifestyle. Her goal is to help her patients achieve sustainable results, usually by using a combined approach of lifestyle changes and weight loss medications, when appropriate. To further enhance her ability to assist patients in reaching their weight loss goals, she became board certified in Obesity Medicine.

Menopause Transition Care

Peri-menopausal and menopausal care is also a focus of Dr. Yeung’s practice. Navigating her own peri-menopause journey she learned that doctors in the traditional healthcare system know shockingly little about the issues that women going through this phase of life face. Her frustration led her to become a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner so that she could provide the care she lacked to her patients. She uses both hormonal and non-hormonal therapies and lifestyle changes to help women navigate the peri-menopausal and menopausal years successfully.

Over the past five years, Dr. Yeung has applied the principles of Lifestyle Medicine to improve her own health and that of her family. She feels healthier and is in better shape now than she has been since her early 20’s. Her exercise regimen includes weight lifting and rucking, and she has even helped her two teenagers safely start weight lifting regularly. A passionate home cook, Dr. Yeung enjoys creating nutritious whole food, plant-based meals and is dedicated to teaching others how to prepare delicious plant-based dishes.
