Rachel Coleman, MD
Dr. Rachel Coleman is dual board certified in Lifestyle Medicine and Pediatrics, with two decades of experience caring for individuals and families across all stages of life. Her professional mission is to help patients live healthier, more vibrant lives—preventing chronic disease, optimizing well-being, and supporting vitality at every age.
Dr. Coleman earned her bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Milligan College in 2000, and went on to graduate from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2004. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, in 2007, and remained on faculty as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics until 2011.
In 2012, she returned to Gainesville, Florida to join the University of Florida College of Medicine, where she worked in academic medicine and earned multiple awards for excellence in teaching and patient care. In 2022, she launched Honeybee Pediatrics, a highly personalized, award-winning practice rooted in the principles of compassionate, whole-person care.
Motivated by a deep belief in the power of lifestyle change—and inspired by the needs she saw in her community—Dr. Coleman became certified through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and co-founded Empower Lifestyle Medicine in 2024. She saw a growing number of adults facing chronic disease, hormonal shifts, and burnout, often without access to comprehensive, root-cause care. In response, she expanded her training to help adults optimize their long-term health through evidence-based, lifestyle-driven strategies.
As a member of the Menopause Society (formerly NAMS), Dr. Coleman brings advanced expertise in midlife women’s health and also works with men to reduce chronic disease risk, improve energy and performance, and extend healthspan. At Empower, she cares for both adolescents and adults using a personalized approach that integrates nutrition, sleep, movement, stress management, and hormonal health.
Empower Lifestyle Medicine was born out of her desire to broaden her focus to adult care and meet the rising demand for holistic, lifestyle-based medicine. The practice is rooted in helping people live with energy, clarity, and purpose—while reducing reliance on medications and preventing disease before it starts.
Dr. Coleman is married and the proud mom of three kids ranging from 10 to 18. She understands the real-life challenges of parenting and self-care and brings that empathy into every patient relationship. When not seeing patients, she’s likely reading on a quiet couch, exercising to stay grounded, or spending time with her favorite people.
Wherever you are in life—or wherever you're headed—Dr. Coleman is passionate about helping you thrive at every age and stage.
